finecut IS A CONTEMPORARY CURATION OF HUNGARIAN CULTURE
It is a selection of 20th-century and contemporary Hungarian handcrafted and applied arts objects. The collection explores the nuances of Hungarian object culture through an always-current curation driven by international perspectives.
The selection is kept up-to-date with four seasonal drops throughout the year, as well as smaller additions organised around holidays, special occasions, events or key dates, such as anniversaries of outstanding artists, and collaborations.
All Saints' Day Selection
As autumn deepens and the mist settles over the fields, nature turns inward: colours fade, the air cools, and a quiet sense of reflection fills the days. In Hungary, All Saints’ Day marks a moment to pause, remember, and give reverence, not only to those who have passed, but to the cycles of change that shape all living things.
At Finecut, we turn to this ancient rhythm with a special All Saints’ Day selection, where craft, memory, and material presence meet.
The collection includes Éva Bod’s hand-thrown ceramics: vases, bowls, and vessels glazed in flowing layers of brown, grey, and metallic earth tones, each surface echoing the patina of time and the beauty of transience.
They are paired with off-white candles whose soft, living flame recalls the glow of remembrance, and handmade wreaths and plant compositions woven from Phytolacca americana, wild rose hips, and dry grasses, plants that hold both colour and silence, marking the threshold between life and rest.
This collection reflects how Hungarian culture has long approached loss and memory: not as separation, but as continuity. Visiting the cemetery, tending to graves, or keeping a candle lit are quiet, enduring acts that affirm belonging.
Through these objects Finecut reimagines remembrance as part of life’s natural cycle.
